Luxury Escapes Hawaii

A Hawaii Luxury Vacation Guide

If you were to ask a local about the best luxury escapes in Hawaii, they would undoubtedly have plenty to say. Perhaps they would mention their favorite getaway. More often than not they would ultimately be more familiar with the island they are from. So while the advice of the local should never be overlooked, it is still a good idea to get the advice of your trusted luxury travel agent. There are 8 main islands and each of them is decidedly different. It could take years of travel to even begin to dig in to each one of them. For that reason, we’ve created a brief overview of the Hawaiian islands in this Hawaii luxury vacation guide.

While there are eight main islands in Hawaii, not all of them have luxury vacation rentals. So for the sake of this guide, we will be focusing on the islands of Hawaii with luxury hotels and resorts.

The Island of Lanai

With a population near 2,000 people, this island is ideal for those seeking privacy and serenity. What was once a land full of endless pineapple fields has become a getaway for both locals and tourists alike. There are two luxury hotels on this little island. The Sensei Lanai, a Four Seasons Resort is located in the mountains and is open to adults only. The other, the Four Seasons Resort is located by the seaside. If you should choose to stay in the mountains, there is a shuttle that will take you to their sister resort near the sea. It should be noted that if you are not a guest of the Sensei Lanai you will not be allowed to walk around the property. It is strictly for guests only.

The Island of Maui

Known as “The Valley Isle,” Maui is the second largest Hawaiian island. It was named the world’s most beautiful island by TripAdvisor in 2016. It is known for its world-famous beaches and the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets on Haleakala. There are many five star hotels to choose from on this island including Hawaii adults only resort and pools. Some of the standout luxury escapes include the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. If you’re looking for an adults-only oasis you should check out Hotel Wailea.

The Island of Hawaii

The Big Island of Hawaii is the largest of the Hawaiian islands. It boasts black sand beaches, lush rainforests, active volcanoes. It is possibly the most diverse in terms of landscape of the Hawaiian islands. Some of the best luxury hotels here include the Four Seasons Resort Haulalai, Hilton Waikaloa Village and The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort.

The Island of Kaua’i

The beautiful island of Kaua’i is known as “the Garden Isle.” It is aptly named for the lush tropical rainforest that covers much of the island. It is known for Waimea Canyon, the Coconut Coast and the dramatic beachside cliffs on the Na Pali coast. With a smaller population that most other Hawaiian islands, you’ll find that Kauai offers it’s guests a more secluded, natural experience. Kauai luxury escapes include the Royal Sonesta Kaua’i Resort Lihue, Timbers Kauai Ocean Club & Residences along with The Lodge at Kakui’ula.

The Island of Oahu

While this is easily the most populated of the Hawaiian islands, it is also known for the Pearl Harbor memorial, the world famous North Shore is home to the state capital. It is affectionately known as the “Heart of Hawaii.” Some of the luxury hotels on Oahu worth looking at include the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach and The Kahala Hotel & Resort.

Putting It All Together

The Hawaiian Islands are as beautiful and diverse as the people who live there. Each one of them is unique, with plenty to offer. If you are interested in booking your vacation and need help planning your luxury escape to Hawaii, be sure to reach out to your Hawaii luxury vacation specialist.
